Pind, Thoraipakkam

Finally, the urge to taste an out and out Punjabi Restaurant comes to an end with ๐Ÿ˜ Pind ๐Ÿ˜ .. !!

The autocorrect enabled in my phone corrects it to pond ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ. The origin of the word is Punjabi and it means “A Village/Acommunity of people”. The people are referred to as Pendu.

True to its name, the restaurant has a small group of people serving. The ambience is great with some light music, a chat shop at the centre of the place. At one side the seats resemble the village cots whilst resemble the small hut like area and have chairs inside.

The timings are from 11.30 AM to 3.30 PM and from 7 PM to 11 PM everyday. It’s highly advised to book a table in advance as the place is near to IT parks and is always crowded. The usual waiting time is anywhere between 20 minutes to 40 minutes (when it’s crowded). The place can be noisy due to the people and you cannot expect silence here.

Now the order.

1. Cream of Tomato Soup – INR 80

Sufficient quantity for 2 people. The cream tasted good and soup wasn’t too watery as it is in some places. It was reasonably thick.

2. Roti – INR 20

Thank God it wasn’t butter. I am on the verge of reducing my weight and stuck to Roti ๐Ÿ˜‚. It was ok.

3. Paneer Tikka – INR 210

A bit on the higher side but it’s totally worth it. See the picture attached below. Drooling over ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–. Good enough. Period. Shared by 2 people. Like the Kalathi Rose Milk & Sri Krishna Sweets’ Mysore Pak, this made it to my list and I cannot leave it out at any chance.

4. Veg Banjara – INR 230

Experimental dish that I wanted to try out and it was not what I expected. Nevertheless we had to eat it since we ordered. Namma kaasu Thane. Waste panuvoma. Adjust panni saptutom. Not worse but OK. With all the greenery and a splash of cream above, this was good looking than we expected it to be. A bit on the sugary side, it jelled well with Jeera rice but didn’t go better with Roti.

5. Jeera Rice – INR 130

My favourite among the rice menu always in a restaurant. Easily the best that I haa had so far. Must try it again with a dish of Aloo. It’s heaven ๐Ÿ’—. Do try once.

6. Strawberry Milkshake – INR 149

Priced the same as Bata Chappals (reduction of INR 1 from a rounded figure) this was served in a jar. The quantity was good enought for 2 people to drink, but my friend drank it all himself. I m not complaining here ok, let’s leave it .. !!

The waiter served us everytime and was always on call for help. The main course is served in silver utensils to my knowledge. I will attach the photos of all the items and do visit this place soon.

Must try Punjabi Restaurant. Food .. Food .. Food .. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜œ
